Come admire classic cars or hop aboard a river cruise. Take in the atmosphere of stockcar racing or take to the skies for unimaginable views. Don’t miss our downhill daredevils as they take on each other and Drews Ave at the popular Soap Box Derby.

Come admire classic cars or hop aboard a river cruise. Listen to the roar of stockcars or take to the skies for memorable views. Hear about the history as you’re taken on a ride, and don’t miss our local daredevils taking on Drews Ave’s downhill challenge at the popular Soap box derby.

Welcome to Whanganui Vintage Weekend, an annual event taking place over Wellington Anniversary Weekend. Over the course of this long weekend, visitors will be spoilt for choice with over 30 vintage themed events and attractions taking place in and around beautiful Whanganui.

You can expect to be entertained and entranced by a wide variety of events celebrating the best of every era right up to the vibrant 80’s. There’s no time like the past so take this opportunity to come dressed in your favourite era and celebrate the long weekend away with us.

The weekend schedule will include both free and ticketed events which can all be found on our website (Coming Soon).  Make sure you keep an eye out for new events and updates. A full programme will be available online and at the Whanganui I-site soon.
